Moncalvo, World Gourmet Capital

Moncalvo once was a strategic center of the Marquisate and today famous “capital” of the white truffle of Monferrato.

The ramparts of the castle still contain alleys and medieval palaces. In its churches there are the paintings of Guglielmo Caccia, famous painter of the seventeenth-century in Piemonte.

Don’t miss the Parish Church of San Francesco d ‘Assisi, the Confraternity of Sant’ Antonio Abate and the scenic Piazza Antico Castello. In the shops of typical cuisine, you can find the meat of Fassone and Bue Grasso, Salame Cotto, agnolotti gobbi.
