The Restaurant Il PiattoPiano in Ottiglio is a lighthouse in the culinary sea of Monferrato. In its warm atmosphere, all the products you will taste are homemade, genuine and with the best raw materials available – such as soft bread made with sourdough.
The menu offers a selection of typical starters of the territory, such as cold cuts and the Fassona tartare, and others less common, such as the flan of seasonal vegetables or the marinated chicken on a bed of mixed salad.
The first dishes are very variable depending on the season, with a constant: handmade pasta. You can go from the classic agnolotti with sauce “alla monferrina” to wild red rice with crunchy vegetables, from zucchini gnocchi with saffron cream and ricotta to low-fat tortelli with egg fudge, seasoned kinara and chili threads; in a continuous modern reinterpretation of dishes and typical products of the Monferrato area.
Among the main courses stand out the cockerel with reduction of Chardonnay and the golden escalope with vegetables in carpione (sticks of marinade fried vegetables); with a look dedicated also to those who prefer a vegetarian second curse, thanks to a spectacular strüdel with tomato velvety “all’arrabbiata“.
Finally, desserts are a delight for the eyes and the palate: from the standing milk (a lookalike crem caramel) with honey and crispy caramel cover, to the selection of Piccola Pasticceria (little sweets), and finally, whip almonds with meliga biscuits (typical Piedmontese biscuits).
